BrentCanada Experiences began in 2017 as a passion project during a career transition, following two decades in the corporate travel industry and nearly 30 years after I relocated from British Columbia to Ontario. That period of reflection made one thing clear: no matter how long someone stays in Canada — whether as a tourist, conference attendee, ex-pat or newcomer– I got tremendous pleasure from ensuring that everyone felt welcome wherever they found themselves across this country.

As a lifelong enthusiast of Canadian history and politics—and a committed volunteer with organizations like the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and Toronto Region Immigrant Economic Council, I saw firsthand the energy and optimism newcomers bring to Canada. But I also saw the barriers that they faced in achieving their ambitions, especially in the area of professional networking.

That’s where my efforts found a focus.

Through podcasts, coaching, and a recurring guest expert role with New Canadians TV, I began sharing practical tools to help newcomers navigate the Canadian workplace. With encouragement from their team, I published The Ultimate Guide to Professional Networking for Newcomers to Canada—a hands-on resource for building meaningful career connections.

Now retired from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, I’ve turned this mission into my full-time work: helping newcomers, citizens, and allies bridge the gap between talent and opportunity through culturally fluent networking across the country.

Because building a better Canada means ensuring everyone finds their place in it.
